Hi! My name is Cass from cassandrebeccai.com where I teach you how to manage Afro-textured hair.
Today, I’m going to show you how I do my super-duper high bun. I’ve been getting this request for months now and I’ve decided now after I’ve taken my Marley Twists Out that it’s a great time to do this hairstyle.
Now, the first thing that you need to do for this hairstyle are a few elastics, actually just one, and lots of bobby pins.
Step 1: Brush hair up into a ponytail.
Step 2: Place ponytail holder over ponytail and half your head.
Step 3: Secure band with bobby pins or comb.
Once you get the band tightly around half your head, you want to take either some bobby pins or what I’ve been using, these combs. I use this comb to help secure the elastic. I don’t want the elastic to roll and become smaller. I want it to stop at a certain point. So, I use the comb as a stopper for the elastic. I’ll show you what I mean. Do it on the other side.
Step 4: Move ponytail holder towards front of head.
Okay, now that I have the stopper, I’m going to slowly move the elastic up towards the front of my head. As you can see, the comb is stopping the elastic from rolling up any further which is exactly what I want.
Step 5: Grab ponytail up towards the front of head and tuck the ends under.
Take my hair like this and I fold it over in the front like this, kind of tuck it under and roll it… And, pin it.
Step 6: Smooth your edges.
So, I’ve just taken my head tie off to smooth out my edges and the hairstyle is complete but, I like to make it really look pretty by putting in one of my combs or today, I feel like putting in a flower.
There you go. If you have any questions about this style or want to know where I got some of my items like the hair elastic or whatever, you can find me at cassandrececcai.com. I’ll have that information for you. And, if you do have any questions, just put them in the comments below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thank you so much for watching. Like, subscribe and share. Thanks!ย
lovely style and great idea to use the comb stoppers…
very cute!!!
I LoVe this style – it’s simple, looks easy to do, and the flower adds a touch of elegance.

can’t wait till you try it! I’m sure it’ll look lovely on you.
thank you organicloc!
What did you use to smooth your edges?
That’s so pretty! I wanna try but I don’t know if my hair is long enough ๐
Hm! That comb stopping the elastic is a GREAT idea ๐
-Rochelle.
Thx for this! My hair is no where near your length but I WILL be faking it tomorrow with my BFF… Marley hair! ๐
I hear you. Neither is mine, but I always say- fake it till you make it! ๐ I keep a pack of Marley braiding hair on hand for all my large buns and updos!
haha! I LOVE your comment! Get it girl!
Loving this video again and again! Definitely will try this soon ๐
The comb was such a great idea! Such a pretty hair style! Thank you for share <3 I'll love to try it!

thank you! Pls try it!
I’m new to your channel, what a delightful style! I like your easy going attitude too ๐
thx hon! enjoy
You should do a tutorial. I have length, but not thickness….and I lack creativity sometimes. I’d love to do this style with Marley braids if I knew how ๐
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I attempted this style once before but it didn’t work out because I don’t have thickness. I love it!!!
This is great! Do you have any suggestions for hair shorter than your length?
Love this updo. Your hair is gorgeous!
I love your hair lady!! just beautiful!!
I do consider all of the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They are really convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for beginners. May you please prolong them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
New subbie, just cuz of this video :p. Found you through hey fran hey ๐
First time seeing your channel, just stunning!
@Cassandre Beccai: I love this style. What type of elastic did you use again? What’s it called? I have to try this style. Our faces are shaped similarly, so I think this would look good on me.
@Cassandre Beccai: How did you stretch your hair for this style? My hair bunches up in tight coils when I twist my hair.
I love your hair. I am a new small business owner. I produce organic and natural products. I would love to send u some of my products. My company’s name is H&F Naturally Free Handmade Productscts. Thanks and “more hair”!
thanks a lot Freedah! Do you have a website? I also have my own hair product line. Pls do send me a link to your site- would love to check it out!!
hey sweetie- see my “hair regimen” video for details on this. I basically twist after I wash and retwist about 24 hours later after my hair is dry. Hope that helps,
hey hon- Type in “high bun” on the search bar on my website(link in info box) for all the info you need.
What a clever way of keeping your hair gathered while you pin it. My hair isn’t as long as yours (yet!), but it’s as thick. I can’t wait to dupe this! Thank you!
jez3belly- if you have the thickness and your hair is shoulder length I think you can make it happen. Do it, do it, do it ๐
Oh, I *am* going to do it! I just have to add a little hair to make it work! ๐ I’m always looking for new protective styles, and this one is GORGEOUS. Thank you again!
Your sooo beautiful!!
Usually I do not read article on blogs, however I would like to say that this write-up very forced me to check out and do it! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thanks, quite great post.
Awesome compliment! Thank you. Be blessed and happy new year!
I’m so glad I found your page! I saw you and this hairstyle on someone’s pinterest page and I was in awe of this style. I thought you were a model (maybe you are). I didn’t know you had a YT page. I also didn’t know how to do this style so I studied the pic for a while. I did it using a banana clip. Your way is better but I wasn’t too far off. You have an infectious spirit and I was happy to subscribe. God bless.
Super cuuuuute!!;) I love!!!
U r so cute. But i find it funny when grown up women put flowers in their hair. My friend does it and i dont know why.
Cool I love it
You just have a BEAUTIFUL spirit about yourself!! Love the vid and your hair is awesome!!!
You have such beautiful hair!
