I finally put together a video of some pictures during my stages of transitioning from relaxed hair to natural. Enjoy!
Transcript of This Video
Some people like to be able to read a transcript while watching the videos, or just read the transcript without even listening. If you are one of those people, not to worry – We’ve made the transcript available for you below.
Hey ladies! This is Cass from cassandrebeccai.com and today, I am coming at you with a very quick video of my transition.
I don’t know why it took me so long to come up with these little video with these bad quality pictures of when my hair was transitioning when I finally did the big chop. I realize that it can bring such inspiration to you because I really want to let you know that I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to have an experience where your roots are kinky and the rest is straight and nobody’s like to big chop and have that itty bitty Afro and I know what it’s like for your hair to get to a better length and then, finally to a fuller length.
I hope that you find these pictures inspirational. I’m so sorry that the quality sucks but, I really hope that you can look past about the quality and find something good in there and connect yourself to the seven years that I have been natural.
So, without further ado, here you go. Enjoy!
Video captions:
My sis and I at 5 and 3. I had relaxed hair from 11 to 19 years old. Transitioning lasted eight months. The BIG CHOP and GROWTH… Experiments with some heat styling. Cutting again and more growth… Vibrant health (2009 – Present)
So, that was my journey in pictures. If you have questions, please leave them in the comment box below and I will be sure to get back to you as soon as I can.
Also, would you do me a favor and check out my blog at cassandrebeccai.com. I think you’ll like it there but, I don’t want to force you there but, I think you’ll like it.
All right. See you there. Oh! the link is in the comment box. I think right here actually. All right. Bye!
Hello Beautiful! Happy New Year!!! Blessings for an amazing year ahead. You are such a lovely Light, Cass. I’m looking forward to more great videos from you. Like the one you’re going to post showing your skin care regimen.
Question for u: even though I’m retaining some length through protective styling, I’m still getting a little breakage. Do u get breakage too? Love your videos and thanks for always responding!
yes- I definitely get breakage. I minimize it through frequent moisturizing and deep conditioning. It usually happens most around times when I am lazy with my regimen. Hope that helps!
thanks Cassy, can i call you Cassy? thank you for this video, still transitioning, the last picture definitely proves that it’s worthy , the struggle, for a healthy and beautiful hair thank you so much and have a pleasant day kiss
Hi!!! I am JUST about to start transitioning after taking care of my relaxed hair… I have a few questions (sorry for being to inquisitive!)
What is your hair type?
I don’t want to big chop just yet, how can i maintian the two textures?
and are marley twist good for transitioning?
Thank you and God bless!!
Hey Carm. My hair type is 4b. For all my hair stats check my channel’s page. To transition I used to braid the roots and curl or crimp the relaxed ends as seen in the first few photos. Yes, I imagine marley twists are perfect for transitioning. You’re welcome and God’s blessings to you too!
hey sweetie! welcome to my blog. It sounds like what you used to do with your hair when you were younger, you’ve stopped doing. Go back to what you used to do and I am sure it will help with your hair coming back to it’s original length. Hope I pointed you in the right direction. xo
I can’t remember how often I cut my hair (possibly 3 times) but I would cut off a lot like 3″ or more. I didn’t like split ends at all. Now I know that moisturizing and accepting the fact that I just naturally have some split ends keeps me from cutting again.
hi!! i discovered ur channel 2 weeks ago n i love your beauty and simplicity! Can you tell since when did you start transitionning? ie how much time have you been natural? Thanks for answering !!
your hair is beautiful and so are you (this may sound weird but I couldnt stop looking at your teeth omg!)….i just started documenting my journey and would love for you to check it out I would love the support as I plan to do the same with you…thanks in advance and stay naturally beautiful
I have another question, but how on earth do you keep your hands away from your hair? 2 years later I keep twirling and tugging and pulling, argh! I’m so fascinated with it, but I’m pretty sure I’m unintetionally suffocating it.
I really want to get my hair to look like the last picture of you. I love the fullness and healthiness of it. Can you help me? I just shaved my head so that I could start all over.
That’s a BAAAD ‘fro! Bad meaning Soul Train good (I grew up in the ’70′s). You put Cleopatra Jones and Foxy Brown (Pam Grier not the rapper) to shame! Go on w/your bad self, girl! Really nice!
The pic at 3:10 of you and your hubby is beautiful. It actually made me smile because it reminds me of me n my baby. I’m chocolate and I’ve got a dark chocolate hubby at home too. He’s so gorgeous to me. Scrumptious aren’t they?
O.O…you’re married to akon? lol…u and your husband look beautiful together!
And i LOVE your hair! I hope my hair grows to its full potential like yours! ^_^
WOW!! U R ABSOLUTEY ADORABLE!!!& ur spirit is so beautiful, I love ur hair&wat u represent is of goodness. The spirit of love is all around u~GODBLESS~& keep up the good work
thank you hon! I moisturize with a leave-in conditioner. I use oatmilk n’ honey leave-in from eden’s heart. See my hair regimen videos for more details.
We stumbled upon you in the wee hours of the morning. lol, but you’re really pretty. I was wondering what you use on your skin to make it so clear and vibrant (I suffer from bad acne).
My mom wanted me to tell you I pop my bumps ( bad habits )…..
anyway, just curious. btw, love your pleasant disposition.
Your hair is absolutely Stunning. The more I watch videos of women transitioning From Relaxed to natural makes me feel good about the decision I made to go natural.Thank you so much for making this video, and I hope you Don’t find this offensive but you look exactly like Cynthia Bailey From The Real House Wives Of Atlanta.(LOL)

I am transitioning too and it is so terrible because i have gray hair at the roots and black on the ends!!! the black hair has been permed but the grey hair is natural! UGH!!!
just found your channel and this video. cant wait to watch the rest. im 1 yr and 3 months into my gradual transition. i have about 7 inches of new growth but all my hair is waist length. i cant wait to b all natural! your hair and energy is beautiful!
mmmm… a black woman that takes care of her natural hair reflects how she about herself. That’s truly sexy. Strong dominant hair requires natural earthy organic care. I wish more black women learn to love themselves and their hair. Good job sweetheart.
Love your hair! After watching this video, I checked out your website and read your bio and realized we are both Haitian Americans from Brooklyn, living in Washington State
I was looking for a natural hair regimen for the PNW.:)
You and your husband look soooo beautiful together. Like i had tears in my eyes! You look so in love! Your hair is also such an inspiration, thanks for posting!
Hey! Love the transition! I love love love your hair texture! What products did you use while growing your hair? (I have the “true African hair” it is really coarse, kinky and hard to comb)
Any other info would be much appreciated.
Waw!!!! thanks for posting this video…you are a true inspiration… I recently started my transition so taking a look at the video has really helped me to stick with it, cuz i see that the outcome will be great… you are beautiful and i love the happiness and love that i see in your pictures with your husband..keep it up!!
OMG! Your hair looks fab and your husband looks like Akon on that pic and also a lot like Croneille (a French Canadian artist from Rwanda) in your hubby vid!
Love your channel! Keep it up!
i love your hair,, also u can help me with my natural hair its been 2 months for mines nd maybe you can check my hair out and help me into what you think and whats best,
Hi ! I did my big chop back in 2010, but I never wanted to own up to actually taking care of it so I kept cutting it. Now I’m willing to make the effort and I really want to try to grow it out. What do you suggest for someone in the in between stage on how to manage their hair when there is not really much to do with it ?
I subbed because you have such an awesome personality and I just happen to be transitioning…Yay!…..and I was totally inspired by your pics. I had braced myself for the worse but they were not bad at all, Thanks so much!!!!
Thank you for your wonderful video, I actually did a video of my hair. It still have perm, I’m waiting for it to grow a little to do my first big chops.
Wow, you’re soso pretty! Im finding it soo hard to transition, ive tried many times and i’ve got mid back length ever since i was a baby ive had full hair until i started texlaxing im 14 now and my hairs shedding like MAD i went to the hairdressers last month to get a protein treatment and a trim but unfortunately my hairs still shedding but not as much as it used to, have you got any suggestions of what i could do? Thanks
I mainly stopped washing my hair with the hard water (see my video on that for more info) and was using the products that now make up my product line- Eden’s Heart ™,
I haven’t had a relaxer since I was 19 years old, I’m 25 now and I have just been flat ironing my hair would you recommend the big cho. Currently my has a wavy pattern but some parts are straight.
Yur hair is stunning. You gave me new inspiration because my way past the collar bone and I cut it back to the shoulder bone due to too much excitement with growth and damage my ends with a straightening comb. Thanks! What products do u use?
can you inbox me tmj2016@gmail.com

Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior for all your sins. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ to be your savior for all your sins then you will go to Heaven. If you believe in Jesus Christ then you are saved and you are in salvation and you have gained God’s righteousness. It matters not how much you have sinned in the past, in the present and especially in the future. Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior and you will go to Heaven forever and that is the whole truth. Spread the truth.
Your ends should be gone by now depending how long your hair is. If you are experiencing straight parts thats probably is heat damage. Only way to fix it is to cut it off.
Your video was definitely inspirational. I have been natural for 3 year and I was trying to figure out length retention methods and how to promote growth.
Hey i have been on my natural journey for almost two years and i finally talked my mom into going natural….she did the big chop and is trying to figure out how to keep her hair moisturized…..so we looked at your video and she told me to ask you…any suggestions?
HI, i’m from of guadeloupe (french island), in west indies… and your hair is gorgeaous. I lov Ur video I want to cut mine, you give me hope… thank you and sorry for my english. ^^
dont take this the wrong way… but I love your teeth !!! LOL , I will be getting braces soon and I have a gap… I want to center it but not close it … by chance did you have braces ?
so i relax my hair because it is hard to manage and i have been relaxing, but i do want my hair to grow, any tips. my hair is about 8inches and i am trying to reach my goal of 12inches now i use crece pelo products and castor and coconut oil from St.Lucia is there anything you could recomend. also your hair is amazing i would love to grow my hair that long thats my goal after 12 inches is 15 and … but beautiful hair though.
Your hair will never, never, never grow past 8 inches if you continue to relax. It takes about three months for your scalp to normalize after a relaxer
You do not have to CHOP but you do have to go natural. The easiest way to do this is to part your entire head and braid your hair up into small medium braids. Then trim them into a cohesive style. This minmizes breakage and pulling from brushing and tying, helps retain moisture, and lets you manage thick uncontrollable hair without heat or relax.
This is not true. There are many women out there with long healthy relaxed hair it just has to do with maintenance and up keep just like any other hair. You should never try to push someone into doing something that may not be what they want to do. You especially should not be feeding anyone lies on a topic you obviously don’t know much about. Going natural is a very personal decision that someone should make for their own reasons.
They should not be influenced to make such a big decision based off of a thought implanted in their head that their hair can’t grow because you said they need to go natural. @Chanel Calderon, you do whatever you want with your hair. You can research healthy long relaxed hair but if you’d like any tips let me know.
Yes they should, women who relax will never be able to grow their hair and that is the thought they need to have planted in their head. My whole childhood I had short- haired women who told me to relax and my hair never grew.
It may be your business and you may get financial rewards for spreading boldfaced lies to GIRLS, but as an educated scientist who appreciates the 2004 return of the natural movement which died in the 70s not more than 10 years after its comeback, I’m not going to let you post that relaxers are safe and if done right could healthy on the natural hair forum. RELAXERS KILL HAIR IMMEDIATELY.
I also want to post that in a post for a different video I urger women who want to grow hair not to chop of relaxed hair when they go natural. After 3 months your relaxed hair will grow just as well as head of heair that’s been chopped and that time will not be shortened by a chop. Relaxed will break anyway if it is dead but enoght of that relaxed hair may survive – don’t have to be dramatic just be seriously commited. That big chop is just a sacrificial promise not necessary.
Not to sound angry, but I did not say hair won’t grow at all. It just won’t grow long. It also won’t grow as fast. My experience is that my hair stops growing for six to eight weeks after a relaxer – that’s two months of lost time. By long I mean do-not-have-to-wear-a-weave long. People who go natural make that huge decision based off the FACT that if they go natural their hair won’t EVER break.
Hi I’m transitioning from a bad experience of relaxer to natural. And I’m getting sad and angry that my hair is short but i was wondering how did you grow your hair so long and what happens to the relaxer hair like do you cut it off or does it change to your natural hair texture
Sweetheart, you have beautiful healthy hair god bless you and I’m sure you are really going to take care of your hair. You are beautiful an you should accept that god bless!
well, you talke about the bad quality of the pictures, but I saw some MASTERPIECES. I think you had some of those pictures taken by a reall photographer, right. (I’m into photography, that’s why the curiousity). Besides that, your hair rocks. I went natural about 2 years ago and my hair is a little past my shoulder now. the thing that irritates me though, is that my hair seems to grow slower in the middle of my head. thanks for the video, it’s inspiring.
I don think you have to do the big chop most people prefer but it is possible to grow your hair put without doing the big chop I’ve seen people do it they take extra good care of there hair and when there natural hair is where they want it they just cut the stringy relaxed ends off
the one with the afro reminded me of palm grier nice i like it and i am currently going back to natural since relaxer has damaged my hair alot! and all the other females in the family have maintained their long hair but mines has broken badly. so im going back to natural nice vid keep it up
yes i mean it. i am glad to see maybelline gift card which i got previous week as a gift from them. but i can tell you one thing, make sure you tell the address and email properly to send the giftbox. you can also get it from here > bit.ly/11vEvG4?=qzaxg
Hooo my gosh ! It’s very amazing ! I really live your Hair ! Your personnality ! Everything lol. If i saw this video 2 months ago I wouldn’t straight my hair but anyway…. I’m waiting my Afo comeback
I love this.. New follower and New to this being natural! My roots are kinky but the ends are straight. Do I have to cut off the perm or is it something I can work with? What products do you use. Thanks for the video!
Wow I saw multiple responses and I am going to respond to each and every one. Your hair is always continuously growing. It is up to you to retain that length. You can do the research yourself. Many women with short hair or hair that has remained at the same length for years have experienced breakage that occurs at the same spot due to bad hair practices. Once again saying that relaxed women can’t grow their hair is false. You can look up many long haired relaxed women here on youtube.
Also I do not get paid to spread the TRUTH lol. FYI I am natural and obviously have nothing against being natural. I am proud of the movement and the freedom to wear my hair as it grows out of my head but I also do not approve of people blatantly spreading lies. There is no absolute proof on the many “dangers” of relaxers and a lot of these “dangers” are circumstantial. I believe going natural is a personal decision and that no one should be told what to do. Relaxers do not kill hair lmbo.
Almost everyone knows that you can transition in oppose to doing the “Big Chop.” You are not saying anything new. I transitioned for a year and this video was about her transition.
And once again relaxed hair can grow long. It is specific to the person and their personal hair practices as always. My sister has extremely long relaxed hair almost to her butt so you can not sit here and say relaxed hair can’t grow long. People have to realize that protective styling isn’t just for natural hair. You have to protect your relaxed hair to retain length just as well. Your hair didn’t stop growing for months after the relaxer.
2) Most people get a relaxer every two months due to new growth. So you’re telling me you waited four months between relaxers? Just trying to be sure. Most relaxed women don’t realize they comb or brush their hair too much especially right after a relaxer. This causes abundant breakage just as if someone was to constantly comb their natural hair. And to say that natural hair NEVER breaks is beyond insane. All hair can break. It’s natural hair not super power hair lmbo.
3) Our natural curly hair is actually among the most fragile of the hair types (look it up yourself). Natural hair tends to grow to incredible lengths due to our nature to leave it alone more. We do protective styling and low manipulation styling to retain length but many relaxed women don’t think to do this. They comb their hair daily and wear it out and the breakage is inevitable. Comb your natural hair every day. It will break! It does not have super powers.
4) Treat any kind of hair wrong and you can be stuck with short hair forever. It’s up to the person to take part in good hair practices whether relaxed or natural. I hope you will do some real research before responding. I advise you not to post anything you don’t know to be actual fact because I can guarantee you that most of your information was false. I would also like to discourage you from using false information to encourage people to go natural. That is not the way to do it.
Your personality is beyond sweet. I have been transitioning for the past 3 months and couldn’t take it anymore! Finally BC but I did it myself..in my bathroom with moody music cause I’m weird like that.. I went out and bought 2 wigs and I like them but my short natural hair is growin on me and I can’t go back and forth so just trying to decide if I want to rock my TWA. I’m wondering what you hair type is and I’ll be checking out your blog!
A lot the relaxed ends will eventually break off on their own. You could grow out your natural hair for several months and then cut off the ends so your hair won’t be so short if you are worried about that.
Hi Cassandra, your hair are just wonderfull!!
I’m coming from Senegal and my hair are even more curly and hard to comb than yours….But I have a question, were your hair already soft at the beginning of your transitioning because mine are really dry even if I treat them with jojoba, almond and olive oil.
Can I expect a similar growth than yours?
Thanks a lot and keep this natural style, it suits you perfectly!
Firstly you seem to be a warm natured person, you know how you can just tell if someone is warm by thier smile and expression and you seem to be one of those people. Ok now for the questions … what made you do the big chop? Is it easier doing the BC as appose to sticking with the transitioning? how often did you trim your hair when it was growing natural? your hair is lovely in the final picture. Im transitioning and dont know if I should do the BC or not, Im contemplating it but am nt sure
Gosh you are gorgeous! But anywho I am so happy I found your channel because looking at your transition photos and right after your bug chop I see the closest thing to my hair texture that I’ve ever seen on YouTube!
I’ve learned that natural girls with tightly coiled hair are extremely limited to hair growth. My hair is extremely tightly coiled and I know it would never grow this long. Its just genes and I’ve learned to deal.
that’s not true at all…I just did a big chop in march, and my relaxed hair was past shoulder..i literally shaved it off with my husbands clippers.and it is now may 20th and my hair is 3 inches long already. I thought it would be this length by Christmas.i’ll be honest, every time I get it wet, my coils will coil up on themselves and look shorter than when I shaved it…but if I stretch out a bit of hair, you can rally see the growth.
I really appreciate your posting this video. It was pretty informative. In the spirit of helping spread the word about being Natural; its only right that I tell you and others about a young lady who I believe you’ll appreciate as well. Her website is ITSNATURALORNOTHING. (.COM BY THE WAY.) I truly encourage you and others to check her out; and thanks again for taking the time out to create this video for us. -S. Neal
That’s probably just a “your particular hair” thing. Everyone’s hair grows differently. Like nidagichole, I also big chopped my hair and its a year and a half later and I can put mine into bun without blow drying or straightening. I haven’t straitened it in 6 months, so I cant give you a precise length, but its naturally, tightly coiled and I can stretch them pass my shoulders. I agree it could be genes, but your experience isn’t a sum for girls with natural tight coils in general.
2:55 very pretty, can you make a tutorial for that hairstyle?

mmmm… a black woman that takes care of her natural hair reflects how she about herself. That’s truly sexy. Strong dominant hair requires natural earthy organic care. I wish more black women learn to love themselves and their hair. Good job sweetheart.

Hi ! I did my big chop back in 2010, but I never wanted to own up to actually taking care of it so I kept cutting it. Now I’m willing to make the effort and I really want to try to grow it out. What do you suggest for someone in the in between stage on how to manage their hair when there is not really much to do with it ?
I am transitioning and i try to moisturize my hair but i still get a crunchy dry feeling. Is there any way i can help this issue?

Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior for all your sins. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ to be your savior for all your sins then you will go to Heaven. If you believe in Jesus Christ then you are saved and you are in salvation and you have gained God’s righteousness. It matters not how much you have sinned in the past, in the present and especially in the future. Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior and you will go to Heaven forever and that is the whole truth. Spread the truth.

-Shantel
what is your hair type If you don’t mind
I saw your picture when I Google Natural hair photos and thought you were beautiful, and here you are on Youtube! How fantastic!!
Loved it! That was great!
Your ends should be gone by now depending how long your hair is. If you are experiencing straight parts thats probably is heat damage. Only way to fix it is to cut it off.
I love the last pic with the glasses! so beautiful!!
7 years, awesomness, you have a beautiful personality
Beautiful Spirit, shines right through!
You are so beautiful and have a trillion dollar smile. I see the Light that shines from you!

Your video was definitely inspirational. I have been natural for 3 year and I was trying to figure out length retention methods and how to promote growth.
did you keep chopping all of your hair? or just the tips
I kept chopping 3-6 inches off. That’s a set back of about 6-14 months each time.

HI, i’m from of guadeloupe (french island), in west indies… and your hair is gorgeaous. I lov Ur video I want to cut mine, you give me hope… thank you and sorry for my english. ^^
For people’s hair to be like yours does it depend on the quality hair you have from when you are born or younger?

You & your sister were so cute in that picture! Can hardly wait till my hair is as long as yours. Good music choice too:)

hi Catherine, see my link in the info box to find out what I use on my hair and my hair regimen. You can also look that up on my channel.
Omg, are you married to akon…?
You have beautiful hair and smile.
Just out of curiosity, what hair texture do you have?
how long does it take to your hair to be as long as on the last pic?q your first BC . because I have the same hair texture .
sorry if my english is a little bit weird but I’m a french natural girl. forgive me!
i want that last picture. I WANT IT!!!!!!
was about to ask about akon, you beat me to it lol
Your hair will never, never, never grow past 8 inches if you continue to relax. It takes about three months for your scalp to normalize after a relaxer
You do not have to CHOP but you do have to go natural. The easiest way to do this is to part your entire head and braid your hair up into small medium braids. Then trim them into a cohesive style. This minmizes breakage and pulling from brushing and tying, helps retain moisture, and lets you manage thick uncontrollable hair without heat or relax.
How inspiring! Your smile reminds me of Chescaleigh, but you’re both beautiful in your own unique way
First of all YOU’RE GORGEOUS! lol Love your healthy hair!
Lol your personality is so flawless!
Yufhhghyygtol
That big chop is just a sacrificial promise not necessary.
cUpcAk37227,
Not to sound angry, but I did not say hair won’t grow at all.
Why??
Why did you cut more than once, and why in that length?
♥ty!
because I thought it was severely damaged.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the last picture!!!
I’m going natural now (just started ) but how short did you get it during the big chop and do you have to get it
Hi I’m transitioning from a bad experience of relaxer to natural. And I’m getting sad and angry that my hair is short but i was wondering how did you grow your hair so long and what happens to the relaxer hair like do you cut it off or does it change to your natural hair texture
You have such a sweet spirit! I’m glad I subscribed to your page.
So pretty x
Beautiful hair!!! Love the pic with hubby!!
the same thing happens to me. the middle is the slowest part to grow
Beautiful growth, congratulations hunni bunni, its absolutely gorgeous!!!!
I don think you have to do the big chop most people prefer but it is possible to grow your hair put without doing the big chop I’ve seen people do it they take extra good care of there hair and when there natural hair is where they want it they just cut the stringy relaxed ends off
Beautiful
can u watch like and subscribe my video thx
the one with the afro reminded me of palm grier nice i like it and i am currently going back to natural since relaxer has damaged my hair alot! and all the other females in the family have maintained their long hair but mines has broken badly. so im going back to natural nice vid keep it up
So inspirational
My goodness. This is so amazing and you’re stunning. I’ve only just started my transition and I’m petrified but I have hope now lol

3:13 is that Akon?! Lol
THEM LASHES GIRL!!! SO LONG AND CURLY
Loved vid..will check out your website too.
That is not the way to do it.
are you SDA?
yes
hey girl- no you don’t have to cut off the perm. I use Eden’s Heart products.
thank you! don’t worry- your afro will come back
haha! thanks!
How long is your hair love ?
That’s what I was wondering.
What’s your hair type?
A lot the relaxed ends will eventually break off on their own. You could grow out your natural hair for several months and then cut off the ends so your hair won’t be so short if you are worried about that.
you’re so so so so very beautiful!!
Reminds of Jada Pinket-Smith
I love your videos! I have recently decided to go natural and I love it! Your posts are very encouraging and helpful! Thank you!
Just stumbled across your channel—-OMG—-gorgeous hair! Thanks for sharing your hair journey.
oooh my I like your hair

How long did it take you to grow your hair that long?
Luv this video.
Omg that last photo was flawless! Very inspirational! Ps that guy really do look like Akon congrats girl lol
Wow you are seriously gorgeous, and your hair is just, wow I don’t even have words, you are stunning!
What church is that at 1:32 ?
how many years ???
How long did it takr
Beautiful! Inspiring! Encouraging! Thank you for posting this…. On the way to your blog now:)
They were not that bab
How long did it take for your hair to grow so long ?
is it necessary to cut off straight ends? and how long before you got that full length of hair?
That last photo is EVERYTHING! *Subscribed*
This is the 1st time I am going to make a comment. I love your personality, your smile and of course your hair. You are beautiful!
Firstly you seem to be a warm natured person, you know how you can just tell if someone is warm by thier smile and expression and you seem to be one of those people. Ok now for the questions
… what made you do the big chop? Is it easier doing the BC as appose to sticking with the transitioning? how often did you trim your hair when it was growing natural? your hair is lovely in the final picture. Im transitioning and dont know if I should do the BC or not, Im contemplating it but am nt sure
Gosh you are gorgeous! But anywho I am so happy I found your channel because looking at your transition photos and right after your bug chop I see the closest thing to my hair texture that I’ve ever seen on YouTube!
impressive hair and genetics, wish more african americans girls would look like this.
who ever he is..he is sexy!!
pls what product do you use pls?
Eden’s Heart
Started reading your book And I Lovee it, the introduction was like->the story of my hair life…thankss
I’ve learned that natural girls with tightly coiled hair are extremely limited to hair growth. My hair is extremely tightly coiled and I know it would never grow this long. Its just genes and I’ve learned to deal.
That’s not true. check out urbanbabes on youtube. They have great advice on getting tightly coiled hair to grow. There’s hope my sister!
oops i mean urban bush babes lol sorry
What a lovely lady – joy!
You’re so pretty, I don’t think there’s a single “bad” look for your hair, it all looks pretty, cute, lovely.
R u mixed??And u should be a model if it not already
Beautiful pics… Truly inspirational! Thks for sharing…
that’s not true at all…I just did a big chop in march, and my relaxed hair was past shoulder..i literally shaved it off with my husbands clippers.and it is now may 20th and my hair is 3 inches long already. I thought it would be this length by Christmas.i’ll be honest, every time I get it wet, my coils will coil up on themselves and look shorter than when I shaved it…but if I stretch out a bit of hair, you can rally see the growth.
Dear Cassandre Beccai,
I really appreciate your posting this video. -S. Neal
Ur natural coil pattern is beautiful!
You’re so beautiful
how long have u been natural
That’s probably just a “your particular hair” thing. Everyone’s hair grows differently. Like nidagichole, I also big chopped my hair and its a year and a half later and I can put mine into bun without blow drying or straightening. I haven’t straitened it in 6 months, so I cant give you a precise length, but its naturally, tightly coiled and I can stretch them pass my shoulders. I agree it could be genes, but your experience isn’t a sum for girls with natural tight coils in general.
